Vallerga Fire Investigations

Chris Vallerga is a fire investigator servicing California. He began his fire service career in 1973 with the California Division of Forestry (now the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection). He has over 2000 hours of documented training, which includes classes from the National Fire Academy, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection Academy, the California State Fire Marshal’s Office and various colleges. He holds an Associate of Science degree in Fire Science and Law Enforcement from Napa Valley College. He has a Peace Officers Standards and Training certificate and served as a Fire Captain Specialist (fire investigator) with Cal Fire.

Mr. Vallerga is a Certified Fire Investigator through the International Association of Arson Investigators and the California State Fire Marshal’s Office. He is a Master Certified Fire Investigator with the California Conference of Arson Investigators and he is also Pro Board Certified. He has investigated over 2000 fires and is qualified to testify as an Expert Witness. He has testified in the Superior Courts of Lake, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, Sonoma and Yolo Counties.

Mr. Vallerga is a California Licensed Private Investigator by BSIS #25719 and is fully insured and bonded. He specializes in wildland fire investigations and fuels reduction, including thermal imagery and ArcGIS mapping. He is a certified faller and conducts pile and broadcast burns routinely. He also owns Rockin 3V Remount Service and provides pack animals for backcountry fire support activities.

Mr. Vallerga has served as a lead investigator with the Lake County Arson Task Force and as an investigator with the Cal Fire Arson Investigation Unit (AIU).

Mr. Vallerga has testified in California Courts as an Expert Witness and is capable of assisting clients with litigation and defense support. He is exceptionally well versed in the California Public Resources Code and California Public Utilities Commission rules.
